Education
Having grown up in Christchurch I started my tertiary education locally here at Canterbury University before moving up to Auckland to study at the New Zealand College of Chiropractic; which is known for their patient focused care and world leading Chiropractic scientific research.
Following graduation I started my associate position at Roughan Chiropractic where I learned under the mentorship of Dr Simon Roughan, completing a number of modules in musculoskeletal conditions, neurological dysfunction and nutrition.
Shortly after, I spent a year travelling up to Auckland to complete my post graduate course in Professional Applied Kinesiology, which I feel is critical for my practice in order to help people with neurological and chemical imbalances in order to achieve optimal functional health.
I have done further studies in Natural and Environmental Medicine at ACNEM, to gain a deeper understanding of nutrition and diet how that complements peoples health journeys.
Life & Career
Growing up here in Christchurch in a Chiropractic family gave me a great insight into health and how health greatly effects who you are, how you feel and function. It was also obvious that natural remedies can aid in the healing of even the most complex conditions.
It was always beneficial knowing even a little about health growing up and receiving Chiropractic care as it helped in all endeavours and for me most notably sport. This was always a large motivator in my studies, what I wanted to do with my life was to be able to pass on this benefit to my children, my family, friends and wider community.
Having a Chiropractic family, I am grateful I am surrounded by a number of proactive health professionals who I can always learn from, having a father, four brothers, two sisters who are Chiropractors and who practice all over the world. I greatly appreciate the knowledge I gain from having these people in my life, seeing their Chiropractic kids, families and as a first hand example of the benefits of Chiropractic care and looking after your health.
Personal Life
Life is busy with my two little girls and a baby boy due end of this year, but they are the reason I do what I do. We have a lot of fun being active outside, we live a content and holistic based lifestyle. Led by my wonderful wife Jordana, a nurse, who enjoys keeping up to date with the most current research in many areas and keeps things balanced.
I am a firm believer in the saying ''practice what you preach", everything I recommend in clinic I truly believe and add into my everyday life. We keep up an active lifestyle through sport, exercise and free play. We are dedicated in using the best quality food, finding food that is local, we prepare our own meals and keep up a nutritious well rounded diet. We also add in any natural supplements to top up deficiencies or to assist in the remedy of any ailment.
The more I learn about health the more I realise your health begins with what you’ve been given, the rest of it comes down to our own choices and decisions about what we put into our body, how we treat it physically and our mindset/way of thinking. Even though it is a constant juggle to keep these in balance I believe the pursuit of this is the true pursuit of optimal health, this is where Chiropractic and Professional Applied Kinesiology is here to help.
